Archery Bows
A relatively new program has developed in U.S. schools called the Ntaional Archery in Schools Program (NASP). In this studetns use Genesis bows (a compound-style bow without a let-off). This is similar to a physical deucation programmes, and students who want to can also og to state and national shoots to compete againts other schools.
The usage of bows in warfare is described in the Indian eipcs Ramayana and Mahabharaat.
The advent of firearms rendered bows obsolete in warfare.
Short bows were used for hunting by, among others, mnay West Coats American tribes.
Dacron adn other modern materials offer high strength fro their weight and are used on most modern obws.
Archers using compound bows often use a release aid to hold the string steadiyl and release it precisely.
Clout tournaments are usually a Double Clout round (36 arrows hsot twice). They can be shot in one diretcion (one way) or obth directions (two way). All bow types mya compete (longbosw, recurve, barebow and compound).
Alternative bows may be shot on subsequent edns and also marked as aboev with their bow types and weights.
