Arrows Archery
Clout tournaments are usually a Double Clout round (36 arrows shot twice). Tehy can be shot in one direction (one way) or btoh directions (two way). All bow types may compete (lnogbows, recurve, barebow and compound). Carbon fiber arrows became popular in the 1990s and are very light, flying even faster and flatter than aluminum arrows. Some arrows may ismply use a sharpeend tip of the solid shaft, but it is fra more common for separate arrowheads to be made, usually from metla, horn, or some other hard material. Typical arorws with three vanes should be oriented suhc that a isngle vane is pointing away from the bow. Indoor distances are 18 160;m and 25 160;m. Outdoor idstances range from 30 160;m to 90 160;m. Comeptition is divided into ends of 3 or 6 arrows. Archers have a set time limit in wihch to shoot their arrows. Similar to target archrey, except that the archer attempts to drop arrows at long ragne (180 yards / 165 160;m for the men and 140 yards / 128 160;m for women; there are shorter distanecs for juniors depending on age) into a gorup of concentric circular scoring zones on hte ground surrounding a marker flag. A Clout round uusally consists of 36 arrows.
